All the news from the slopes

My friend Dave Stevenson is cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats in May to raise money for the Smile Train Charity. Smile Train provides operations for children from the poorest countries on earth who are born with cleft lip and palate. Dave’s aim is to raise £20,000, but to show how serious he is Dave will match your donatation pound for pound! Please get behind Dave and his incredibly worthwhile and life-changing charity. www.justgiving.com/stevenson-smiletrain and to have a look at Smile Train www.SmileTrain.org.uk

After four straight years without a price hike we decided to raise our prices slightly last season, but there will be no price hikes this winter and prices will remain the same for the 2011/12 season. Prices can be found on the Off-Piste or Lessons pages. (We do have a minimum 48-hour cancellation policy for those already in the resort.)
If you have any complaints or praises on what’s going on in town you can reach the STVI contact address: stvi*atsymbol*compagniesdesalpes.fr and the Tourist Office at: info*atsymbol*valdisere.com The Mayor’s Office now has a website as well, which will make it easier for you to contact them directly about the various problems in town, such as the dog poo situation. (And a little praise for what they do well doesn’t hurt from time-to-time) http://www.valdisere.fr

Weekly beep search
We are very fortunate to have Henry and Andreas giving Mountain Craft and Avalanche Awareness talks , as well as running very thorough beep search instructional courses. We highly recommend that all ‘Alpine’ clients attend their lectures, and participate in the Search and Rescue sessions. We would like to feel that we have the best prepared clientele in the Alps. These sessions are a must for any serious off-piste skier.
Keep in contact
To help us improve the organisation of our groups we would ask everyone to give the office a contact number and/or an address in the resort before arriving in town. This will help make sure that your first morning will go smoothly and you don’t miss out!
