What a 'Merry' ski that was!

25 December 2017

Merry Christmas to you all and what a ‘Merry’ ski we had today! Katie and Gill joined us for our warm-up down the Mattis before Chris and I headed way out into the Pays Desert with our teams for some lovely snow and peace and quiet. (See photos) Then we ran into Gill and Katie again at the end of the morning and I enjoyed having Katie two metres behind me as we raced down the piste towards our Christmas lunch. Meanwhile Andreas headed up to the Col des Fours with his team and they had a great ski before Andreas, Tansy, Ness and Victor had a Christmas picnic followed by a Christmas family ski. Thomas ‘skinned’ up to ski the north side of Mont Roup where they had excellent snow and I think all the teams enjoyed a great morning out.

Ray came over for dinner last night and we had a brilliant evening with lots of laughs and Ray brought a huge Chevallot tart with whip cream, which we polished off! It was too good to stop and these lovely tarts are never the same the next day! (We also polished off the Guigal 2010 Gigondas!)

Fingers crossed for some sunshine tomorrow morning before some serious snow moves in tomorrow afternoon, all day Wednesday and some light snow on Thursday. This sunshine we’ve been enjoying has been wonderful but we’re now in need of a fresh ‘canvas’ and some more snow to cover up the rocks that are still lurking.

Enjoy the rest of your Christmas and stay tuned for Boxing Day news tomorrow!
