- 'Alpine's' 20th season!
We’ve just returned from 17-days in Canada where we enjoyed a fabulous holiday visiting friends and family, spending time walking in the Rockies, swimming in mountain rivers and lakes, camping, having nightly BBQ’s and generally savouring fantastic weather. I relished my sports-fix watching the Blue Jays, the Stampeder’s, golf, Olympics and whatever else was on the sporting menu. (I’ll try to get some photos of our trip up in the next few days.)
We drove into BC and met up with my friend Tony M and his family and the girls experienced their first-ever camping trip, which was a great success. We camped out for two nights cooking over the open fire (and Tony’s camp stove) while the girls loved having deer walking through our camp site. Tony and Linda have two boys, Wils aged 6 and Andre aged 4, and the kids had a brilliant time together.
I received an e-mail from Radio Will today and he’s had a book published which goes on sale tomorrow. Trust Will to come up with a fantastic title and subject and his book ‘A View from the Cheap Seats- the art of the ‘Gap Decade’, by Radio Will Jones will be available from Amazon, Waterstones, Gardners and Bertrams. Check it out as I’m sure it will be very humorous and well written. Bravo for a great effort Will and good luck!
School is just around the corner, as is the ski season, so it won’t be long now before it winter comes around again. The planning has been running since May so don’t hesitate to book as soon as you know your dates.
I almost forgot to mention that ‘Alpine’ celebrates it’s 20th season since Chris, TJ, Jean Marc, Giles and I took the plunge and started Alpine Experience amidst heavy competition, stress and uncertainty. Val d’ Isere was a totally different place in those days and it took a lot of work and courage to break away from where we were to launch our own business. Well done boys for the commitment and thanks to Olivier, Pietro, Andreas, Thomas and Henry who have since joined and put in a lot of hard work of their own in maintaining our standards and goals in the years since our creation all those seasons ago. And also a huge thank you to Jean Sports and the Uhgetto family who’ve all paid such a big part in the development of Alpine Experience over the years!
Stay tuned for more news as the new season approaches.
