Taylor, golf and Paris!

Wow, what a weekend! It all started off with taking the girls and Mils’ friend Lilly to Wembley to see Taylor Swift and the girls absolutely loved it! They danced and cried and sang throughout the entire concert and although it wasn’t quite ‘Beatle-mania’ it wasn’t too far off. I loved it as well as I’m a total ‘Swiftie’ and besides Ed Sheeran she is the only one who can drag me away from my era of music.

Poor Millie then needed to get up at 6:15 for a 7:30 tee-off in the Woman’s Club Championships at Bramley. She was still buzzing from the night before and played brilliantly tee-to-green but unfortunately missed quite a few ‘gimme’ putts. She was better rested for the last 18-holes on Sunday and ended up third on gross and second on nett. She parred the 17th and birdied the 18th to take second by a single shot, what a great finish Mils! My mate Nick (see photos) won the Men’s Nett Trophy with a stunning display and he only started playing about four years ago! Nick started playing to spend time with his ten-year-old twin sons Jack and Harry who are avid golfers and future champions themselves, and I was really pleased for Nick. Bravo Nick, what a great performance over the 36-holes!

On Monday morning we were up early as I dropped Katie off a school for a school trip to Paris. She’ll be in Paris for a week and should have a brilliant time, especially with the stunning weather that is forecast for the next week or so. Bon voyage Katie!

Golf season is in full swing!

Millie had three golf competitions in three days including a 36-hole event in the pouring rain. It was bucketing it down and I can’t believe they actually played in those conditions! (See photos) Hats off to all the girls that competed and persevered in such wet and windy weather!

The girls are counting down the days until the Taylor Swift concert in London on June 22nd. I’m chaperoning them along with their friend Lilly and I’m really looking forward to it as well. It’s too bad that it’s a Wembley and we’ll be amongst 120,000 other ‘Swifties’, but the days of seeing big stars perform in small venues is long gone!
