Thanks Doug!

Wow! Doug has sent me a ‘heads-up’ of a video showing the pylons being erected for the new cable car at La Daille. It’s pretty impressive with the pilot showing exceptional skills with some very tricky and potentially dangerous manoeuvres above a team of very brave and skilled men fitting the pylons into place. Blimey! You can view it on the Radio Val website.

'Strokes of Genius'

For all you sports fans out there the BBC documentary ‘Stokes of Genius’ is absolutely brilliant and available on BBC2 I-player. It’s the best sporting documentary I’ve seen in a long time and is about rivalries in life but mainly focuses on Nadal and Federer and their epic match at Wimbledon in 2008. There a insightful interviews the both players and their families, Borg, McEnroe, Becker, Sampras, Navratilova and Every to mane of few, and the tennis footage is outstanding. Don’t miss it!!!!

Happy Birthday Millie!

I can’t believe that Millie is 15 years-old today! It seems like yesterday when she arrived and the instant I saw her little nose I knew she was mine and my eyes welled up and I continued to blub for a week! We are having a birthday celebration BBQ at home tonight along with Grandpa Fred, Nana and Viv. Happy Birthday Millie, I’m having a great day preparing all the food for tonight and thinking of you. And let’s hope it’s a double celebration and England can win their place in their first World Cup Final in 52-years! Come on boys! (But at least I’m covered with France winning last night, and Katie is cheering for France full-stop!)

Have a fantastic wedding!

I hope you’ve all been enjoying this stunning weather and the sun continues to shine for Piers’ and Claire’s wedding this weekend. It will be a brilliant affair but unfortunately Gill and I can’t make it due to busy family commitments. Have a wonderful celebration Piers and Claire, we’re so sorry to not be able to make it, and we look forward to seeing you next winter.

Katie has just had a fantastic school trip to Paris while Millie had a week of ‘work experience’ that Gill organised for her. Gill is playing as much tennis as she can when not working and Millie and I are playing as much golf as possible. Speaking of golf, Millie’s coach James is playing in the final qualifying event for the Open today, along with the likes of Thomas Bjorn and Retief Goosen. Good luck James!

Chris and Suzanne stopped by last week for a cup of tea and a catch-up and Chris is trying desperately to get our new website up and running. No one else is doing anything to make it happen so I’m not making any promises but hopefully we can get it up and then do the fine-tuning once we’re on-line.

Stay tuned for more news soon!
